I came home from vacation to find I have similar issue. Rear wheels will not turn but have front wheel drive if in 4wd. if in 2wd there is resistance on pedal but no motion of wheels. I have not checked the trans fluid and sump yet for metal. Will need to take blower and FEL off if going to work on it. May just call dealer rather not. I am super handy so if this was not a big repair job for rear diff I like to know before I even start (ie replace a few bolts and lock tight. I will jack and check if rear diff is intact by spinning wheels later today. Tractor is 2008 and has about 500 hours. Mainly snow blowing Fel work and backhoeing plus some grass. Hummm thankfully winter is over and not grass season yet.
