JD 2320 4WD Lever

I really need to put a small bend in the 4WD lever on my 2320. The way it is now is driving me nuts and more so in the winter with a big set of gloves on. I will need to heat the lever and would rather not do this with the lever on the tractor. Anyway, can someone tell me the need for two pins #'s 23 and 24 or whatever the second one (#23) is for. Is this going to be a problem getting them out or worse yet, getting them back in? I have dealt with roll pins many times but have never come across this type of configuration. Both pins are labeled as "Pins" in the drawing.

Looks like its a pin in a pin setup for whatever reason...maybe shear strength? Anyway, I would order one of each just to insure you won't mess them up and go for it with a proper hardened pin driver-not a soft punch.

If it was my tractor I would machine an extension that would screw onto the original shaft with the same threads on the other end for the knob.
By the way the 4WD lever for the 2720 is different and does come foward more. I don't know if the new 2320's incorporate the newer lever but you might want to check the specs. The shafts might be interchangable.

KennyD, I figured I would order a pair if I did not get an answer such as "that is easy, they push right out". BTW, We have a small 4x2 JD Gator also and really like it, great tool.

Rob-D, The knob just pushes on, no threads. I'll check the 2009 2320s but I think they are the same as the 2008's. I have got to be careful with whatever I do because I still want the seat to be able to flip up.
