John Deere 2320
For any 2320 owners out there. I received pricing from a local dealer. Any input if pricing listed below sounds too high or not? I haven't tried haggling with them yet. They listed options on the mower and snow blower which adds quite a bit to the base price for those implements. I'm not sure if I need them or not. Thanks for any advise!

2320 Tractor....................................................................$ 12,999.00

200CX Loader................................................................. $ 2,998.00

54D In. OnRamp Mid-Mount Side Discharge Mower.
Includes Mechanical Mower Lift and Independent Lift Kit........... $ 2,238.00

54 In. Quick-Hitch Two-Stage Snow Blower
Includes Quick Hitch and Hydraulic Lift, Front PTO Kit,
Implement Drive & Upstop, Front attaching support kit, and
front hitch mid-mount mower combo bracket .........................$ 3,530.00

Sub Total........................................................................$ 21,765.00

John Deere LX279 Trade-In.................................................$ (1,175.00)
Total..............................................................................$ 20,590.00

I think you've got some room to haggle. About 6 months ago I bought a 2320, 200 CX, 62D, 5 foot box blade and power beyond for less than $19,000 before tax. The dealer offered the tractor with loader and 62D for 18K. If you go to the John Deere web site, get the list prices and back off about 10%, that seems to be a reasonable target (before sales tax of course). It does seem like there is a good bit of geographical variability in discounting.

If you are doing a lot of mowing and need to get close to trees, bushes, etc., consider moving up to the 62D. The extra few inches make it a lot easier to get close to things.

Thanks Kenny. I'm in Massachusetts and everything seems to be more expensive here than other areas. I've got 2 JD dealers in my area and waiting for pricing on the other one. Once I have that, I might have a better idea, and can start the haggling process. I appreciate the quick reply.

Thanks. Much better than the pricing I got. What part of the country are you in?

I am in TN and I did just that. I ordered a 2011 2520 with 62D and 200CX loader for $18,300+ $800 shipping from Shane at Mutton Power in Indiana. Ordered it on Thursday last week and it should be delivered this Friday. Shane was about $1500 cheaper than my local dealer... Including shipping! I would have preferred to buy local, but money talks... and I got 0% for 48 months. I hope my local dealer doesn't hold a grudge as I will need service!

Congrats on your new machine! That's quite a savings. I'll contact them for pricing, to see if the numbers could work with shipping. Out of curiosity, did you show the Mutton estimate to your local dealer to see if they would budge on the price?

Thanks, actually, I emailed the local dealer about Mutton's great deal, and I got a very short reply in ALL CAPS that said basically that he wouldn't match... I was not impressed with the local dealer. Also by purchasing out of state, there was no sales tax... which here in TN would have been more than the shipping cost.

I just sent Mutton an Estimate request. Hopefully I'll hear back from someone tomorrow. Too bad your local dealer wasn't more flexible. I hope the service department is more accommodating.

Tell Shane that Scott from Jackson TN sent ya... maybe he will give me some free wheel weights or something. 

Good luck, I was lucky in the fact that my local dealers pricing on the 2320 was very close to Mutton's and his price on the 2520 was better.

I bought my 2520 with a 200CX loader and 46BH in 2008 for $22,387.00 with sales tax included.

My only concern about purchasing out of state would be service. Im sure your local guys will still service but there customers will definitely come first. Best option would be to get them to match out of state prices or atleast come close. Good luck on the new purchase!

I am in the market for a new one as well, not sure 2320 or 2520. Leaning towards 2520. I am in PA and I am starting out by thinking Delaware is not far from me and they do not have sales tax so I should be able to save $1000 off the bat. So here is what the dealer gave me as the first quote on the 2...

2320 Tractor ..........................$11,672.00
200CX.....................................$3,054.00
62D Mower Deck........................$2,905.00 (with independant hydro lift)
54in Quick hitch snow blower ......$3,457.00
3-bag power flow......................$1,947.00

Total......................................$23,037.00

2520 Tractor...........................$13,761.00
200CX....................................$3,054.00
62D Mower Deck.......................$3,069.00 (with independant hydro lift)
54in Quick hitch snow blower .....$3,442.00
3-bag power flow......................$1,947.00

Total......................................$25,275.00

I really don't think this is too good of a deal but we will see.
Now, I notice that I already got a verbal price on the 2320 at a local dealershiip in PA and it was $12,900 (including the $250 delivery charge) so the DE dealer seems to be high on his base price ($13,473.00). I will be trying to strike a a better deal with him.. I also need to find out if he unit he has on the lot is a 2011 or 2010 left over and if it is a left over I will try and get a bigger discoun as it is an aging unit that he is paying on his floor plan. I think read that a good deal is a discount from 15% to 20%.

After a final price is made I am pretty sure i can take off the $1,000 rebate amount the manufacture is giving. The rebate does not affect the dealership bc i am pretty sure he gets the kick back from JD.

Does anyone know about the "SET UP" cost that the dealer puts down for every attachment?????
