Ten hours at 96 dollars an hour seem a little steep. The tractor... they remove crate, add wheels. Backhoe pretty much self contained. Bolt on rear mount.
If you want limo service be prepared to pay the tab. For a grand I would tak the pieces in the crate. You don't have to be a master mechanic to complete some of these minor tasks. I have built a loader from scratch and a back hoe mount for a Bradco 611 which is a 2,000 # attachment with common tools. Were getting to be a society of computer programmers and very few hands on get your fingers greasy problem solvers. Like they say... its only money. I have better plans for it than paying a huge hourly rate for simple tasks I can get involved in.
I have never paid a setup cost for either of my last two tractors or attachments.

I have pushed back on the price, I can't wait to see what they come back with.

When I bought my 3520 (w/ FEL, and BH) earlier this year, I got approximately 15% off the build it price, no other charges, and they delivered, about 45 minute trip.

I don't know what it's like in the tractor business, but I owned a Marine/Snowmobile business for over 30 years, and selling the basic unit "in the crate" for the customer to avoid set-up cost, was a no no. The manufacturer would not allow that. You could lose a dealership over that practice.

Now if the customer wanted to install something after the fact, thats OK, but the basic unit had to be delivered with a complete checklist supplied to the customer, and explained to him. We also had to have him sign a copy and it had to be kept with the sales contract in case we were ever asked for it, by the manufacturer.

In todays reality, I think the signed copy of the PDI sheet is for safety reasons, and for the dealer & Manufacturer to protect themselves from potential lawsuits.

actual marketing sevice times for 2520 , etc

tractor pdi 1.0 hours
backhoe install 4.0 hours
power beyond 1.5 hours
loader install 2.0 hours

Just those items 8.5 hours so a full days worth of work. Most dealer service depts will add up to a 1.3x matrix even to their sales dept as oem time frames are not always as simple as they state. But like mentioned before it was shown on your first quote so appears to me that the dealer was completly up front. I would hope that the dealer does more than unbox and bolt together as previously mentioned. Unit also needs a full inspection the factory does not get everything right, fluids need checked, wheels need retourqued (sp?), hose clamps, hyd fittings, etc. etc. In any case hope you get one, nice unit.

I kept the prep fees and got a bigger discount, here is Maryland services are not taxed so it is more advantage to get the bigger discount and save the taxes.

I did it! I ordered the 2520 with a loader, backhoe, blade, box blade and toothbar and I was able to get another $1400 knocked off the price. They have everything in stock except the backhoe. Now the hard part, waiting for delivery, hopefully 2 to 3 weeks.
