I love my 790. Less than 100 hrs but has done everything I asked, snow plowing and grading.

Mech, thanks for the pics. I've been meaning to tell ya - you've done some real good things with your 790 and the add-ons.

Keep it up - you're likely to give those engineers at Deere some more ideas to try out with the 3005...

Thank you. The problem now is I've run out of things to do on it so now I need another project. I went out this weekend and graded the neighborhood roads for a couple of hours for my birthday. My wife thought I was nuts!

You can see by these replies that there is quite a fan club of this tractor on this forum, and on other forums. I did a search here once, and I think I found posts by over thirty owners of this model, just on this forum. The nice thing about that is each of these people have their own experiences with this machine, different attachments, different add ons, etc. and can lend their knowledge in a variety of ways. That's a good thing to have available, in particular, to a new owner.

My dad and I co-own a 790 and its a great tractor - We have had it since fall 2001 and have had no problem except a rusted out battery tray covered under warranty..

IF you dont want/need a hydro transmission it is a lot of bang for the buck.. If you want a mid mount mower you have to add the mid pto, which a few yrs back was right at $1,000


You can also sum it up in two words: Bullet Proof..
