JD 3020/Farmhand loader question

Mid mount is different. I would hazzard a guess that it was in the back?

If there is enough room to directly mount to it, it would work. If not, you would end up having to make a mount to sling it under the tractor, just behind the oil pan. And end up making a short shaft to connect it. By the way....where would you put the oil tank? I recall my buddies 4020 w/ a JD loader....

No matter what, the PTO pumps are pricey. Might have to "endure" the rear PTO pump for some time.....

I think you are going about things the hard way. You say you don't want to have to pull the pump off the PTO to use PTO equipment, just buy a PTO extension shaft.

Part number SP16646, very bottom line. That Farmhand PTO pump on an independant PTO is the best thing to run a loader with, around 30 gpm if memory serves...

I have a deere loader on a 3020 and using hyd remote. I have to pull the lever for that remote to the down position and lock it there. Than I just use the controls on the loader. I use a cotter pin bolted to the console to hold the lever down. Has worked well.

Back in the day, Deere had (to my knowledge) the only closed center hydrualic system. It started w/ the 60's era tractors and ended in the late 90's when the 55 series ended. Well, at least w/ the small tractors used for vineyard/orchard. Big ones, I think stayed closed center for some time....... Now, most of their 5000 series is open center.

But most everyone else used open center hydraulics. Case, Ford, IH...all open center. The Kubota at the local school runs the loader/back hoe off the remotes.

Yes ..not sure about an american built 3020 but european 20/30/40 series closed centre had poor hyd performance compared to other brands like IH or ford .
I've had a loaders plumbed this way on a MF 390 and IH674 and ford 6610 that are fine but we could never get away with it on JD's.
My neighbours have borrowed hyd drive equipment like augers ,grain carts etc and failed to run them properly on 3020's and 4020's too
