When you check the transmission hydraulic fluid level are you supposed to screw the cap on the dipstick all the way down or let it rest on top of the threads? The manual doesn't say one way or the other.
If the original owner's manual doesn't say, it doesn't matter much, and there is no 'correct' answer. Other Deere equipment of that period would instruct you to rest the cap/dipstick on top of the filler neck and not thread it on.
