Ya I thought it was hail damage too and for some reason even after knocking on the hood with my knuckles I thought at least the top part of the hood was metal, and I opened it to double check and realized it must be a manufacturing defect, so much for quality control, unless they consider that acceptable.

Hey Mike, I am 5' 11" also, somewhere near 215 lbs. It is fairly comfy on the BH, much better then I had anticipated. Good luck with getting your soon, then we can compare notes /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Mike,
I'm a little over 6' with probably another 35lbs more than you guys and I fit very well with my 448.

Just got in from outside digging holes for my 4' evergreens I'm planting. Even my 16yr old son remarked how much easier it is that a pick and shovel...lol

Good luck with your tractor when you get it.

Great pics. Looks like fun having that backhoe. Just can't quite get the real hard interest in getting one. But can think of a few jobs where it could be used on my acerage.

The thing that I have noticed in the hood that look like dimples correspond to braces or something underneath, like these might be attachment points that show through to the top surface. The ones I refer to are evenly spaced, and I think there are four of them.
Does this fit with what you are seeing?

Hey Mike isn't that what the wives are for, making us feel better about ourselves....LOL I did my first feild repair today, I was knocking down a small tree with the backhoe today, and I was lowering the main boom as fast as possible to get the bucket to cut through the stump so I could move the tree out of the way and dig up the roots, when I went full bore with the lever the threaded rod goung to the valve came out of the rod end at the lever. I took off the access panel and rethreaded the rod back on and retightened the lock nut, I also did the same with the other lever, they only had the rods in about 2 or 3 threads. Took maybe 15 minutes to get it going again.

Any luck with when ya might be gettin yours?

Hey Beenthere,
There are four matching dimples where the bracing is, but I also have like 2 other dimples that don't seem to be in matching places.

NUTNDUN ,
How well did the 447 Backhoe do going through the tree stumps? That is what I will be doing with mine.
