JD 325 lawn tractor won't stay running

Please help. I can't keep my JD 325 running. It will start with full choke but if you let off the choke it will stall. Have change fuel, fuel filter, fuel pump and spark plugs.

Welcome. You'll definitely get some suggestions here...

Water in carb bowl. Tank plugged with 'stuff'. Tank vent plugged ?Fuel pickup hose in tank is cracked, leaks and otherwise NFG.

Can you run a gravity feed line directly from a fuel supply to the motor ?

Can you back flush the fule line with a shot of compressed air as a temporary fix ?

Can you dribble gas into the air intake to see if it runs continuously or is it not a fuel problem ?

If the fuel filter is clear plastic, can you see fuel in it ?

Also make sure the fuel solenoid on the bottom of the carb is clicking when you turn the key on and off. Just went through that on a customers mower a couple months ago, that would do the same thing. run with choke on ,but would die as soon as choke opened.

having trouble figuring out part no. for the solenoid. There are two different nos. that I come up with on the John Deere websight. I don't know if I have the FH531V model or the FC540V model. How can I tell?

Should say on the name plate on the motor somewhere IF the label hasn't fallen off or if silk screened fade so it can't be read.

The engine is Kawasaki and its no. is 4kax4942ca 494cc (0.49L) and the ID no. is M00325B087318 which doesn't tell me if it is the FH531V or the FC540V. so that is why I am stuck.

Does your fuel solenoid have a rubber tip? If so, remove it and see if that solves your problem. Fuel solenoids can be expensive and this is a good way to verify that it is faulty before ordering a new one.
