According to the tractor serial #, you have a year 2000 325 and it has the FH531V engine. See TractorData.com.

JD 325 lawn tractor won't stay running

Just to catch everyone up , it wasn't the selenoid . Bought and replaced that. It ended up being the coils. Replaced them and ran the best it ever has. Now have a new problem. Starts up but runs fine for about 30 seconds and shuts off. Seems like a safety switch problem but I don't know. Sounds like a fuel problem.

I agree sounds like a fuel problem. What happens after it quits?? Will it restart?? Sounds like it eventually will ---- if it's a safety switch issue, nothing will happen when you turn the key. No clicks; no turn over; no start ----- just nothing.

Blow back through the fuel line when replacing the fuel filter, as it may be debris in the tank that only allows a trickle of fuel into the line, but not enough flow to supply the engine.
May have to remove the tank and clean it out.. or just pull up the fuel supply tube out of the tank to see if there is something stopping it up. Get at that by removing the rear fender deck, I suspect.
And just changing the fuel filter may be enough for a fix.

Ok so changed filter, blew air back in tank first . Started but ran extremely rough, knocking, and smoking . Shut it off and wouldn't start again. Emptied fuel tank wash and cleaned everything up, put it back together . Still wouldn't start. It's getting fuel, cause it flooded. Took out plugs cleaned them. Checked spark . Wasn't good. Cleaned contact points on coils and adjusted them closer . Better spark but still won't start. Is flooded again. Currently waiting for it to dry out. Very frustrating .

J - Sorry for all the problems your having. Now that you have the fuel system cleaned it sounds like you need to remove the carb and give it a good cleaning.
