The price on the 3720 is very good. Like you I shopped around a little before buying and prices can vary greatly between dealers.

Try drilling postholes with a Toolcat...:D
Also, try loading a dump trailer with a Toolcat...:D
The tractor is the better use overall...attach a TR-3 rake to your tractor and you will be able to do all of your site prep for your future lawn...

Why would drilling post holes or loading a trailer be a problem?

Drilling post holes is not an issue. Actually much easier with Toolcat than rear PHD. Even better than FEL PHD due to auger right in front and easier to see and higher flow rate of the Toolcat. I turn bits as big as 36" (largest available bit is 42") with my bobcat auger. Few tractor mounted units can do that.

Loading height is more restrictive on the Toolcat due to 7' lift limitation but it should load most dump trailers unless have high sides on the trailer.

My neighbor (ER doc) has a Bobcat 250 (replacement for the 873, I think) and a JD 2520 with turf tires. He has 10 acres with a couple of horses and a commercial kennel operation. Quite a bit of pasture and lawn area with a pond that supports ducks and geese in the Spring, summer and fall.

He moves snow and does all his plowing with the Bobcat (9,000 lbs). Tree and stump removal is also a Bobcat chore.

But all the mowing, tilling, box blading, planting, fertilizer applications, and raking are done with the little JD.

He has used both the backhoe and the tiller attachments for the Bobcat. He disliked the performance of both and stated that the dealer told him that the hoe attachment is responsible for more deaths and injuries than any other unit for the Bobcat....

I would opine that if you plan on using implements/attachments that are designed for 3pt use --- get a tractor.

If you want to mow and perform landscape chores with the toolcat --- get the biggest tires you can find and don't add any weight to the machine beyond the necessary implement needed for the work.

Best of luck with your decision.
