JD 3X20 Differential lock pedal

I'm I the only person that finds the length and position of the diff lock pedal inconvenient. Yeah, I have the seat forward and that complicates access but when I'm trying to use it I always think of this:

Hmm, don't think I've ever used mine other than when I first got it to see if it worked, usually have mine in 4x4. Seemed like it was a bit awkward to get it to engage.

Exactly. I use it EVERY time I back onto the trailer and any loose slopes.

I find it awkward too.

I use my 3320 to mow my lawn and use the diff lock all the time in one particular place where I have to turn 90 degrees, go up a fairly short hill (30 feet?) and then turn again. I always get one rear wheel spinning when making that first turn, so hitting the diff lock gets it going just right. If I use MFWD there I'll rip up too much lawn in the tight turn(s).

not fond of it in my cab either. terrible location and terrible engagement. I have only used it to test it myself and it actually does work thank god. luckily for me, I haven't ran into a situation where I have had to actually use it. my 4 wheel drive works good enough where I don't need "3"wheels turning. actually hurts my knee when trying to hold down until it locks in

Interesting, I don't have any problem with mine at all. Less than optimal traction with R4 tires means I use mine regularly. That said, the tractor must either stationary - or traveling in a straight line - when engaging/disengaging diff lock. Otherwise the disparate rotational speeds of the rear wheels will make engagement/disengagement difficult or impossible. Internal damage is not out of the question either. Plus it helps that I'm a six footer, so the seat is always all the way back to the stops.

Another one that hates it. In the almost 6 years of owning this tractor, I probably have only used it 10-15 times and that was when it was really sloppy out, and it is just a pain in the butt to use. I know it is supposed to remain engaged when there is constant wheel slippage, but when you have a lot of grab/loss/grab/loss conditions, it sucks to have to use your heel to hold it down. Like was said though, I am glad to have it, just wish it was more convenient to use it.
