Thank you for your help. I will look at that. The tractor is my dad's and I know nothing about tractors but I do know about the internet. I will be sure to check out the John Deere parts catalog. I believe that I have printed off the sheets for the steering for him off that web site. The tractor is a 1953 40 Tricycle. He says it shimmy's and shakes and pulls when driving. Had to fight the steering the last time he drove it. Lucky he was close to home when it started. If you have any idea why this would be happening let me know. Again thanks.
If you open the operators manual. There is a section on steering adjustment. If the gears are worn too far, either flip them over or replace. There are bushings that will be worn after 59 years. The parts book is online at the JD web site. 1-800-522-7448 if some dolt lost the operators manual.
