TxBillyed,

Hmmm... so yours in on the right.

I haven't quite figured it out yet. Like I mentioned in my previous post, I haven't taken the time to figure it out. There are a few bolts that can be loosened that appear to be a possible solution. So, one of these days, I'll get to it. Right now, we're preparing for the planting season and some things just take precedence.... especially if the CFO says so. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

Just curious but how can it drop lower on one side? You mean one cylinder relaxes more than the other? and then that side of the loader frame falls lower? How can it do that? Isn't it tied across with a steel member just forward of the hood? Just don't see how that can happen but I guess it does. I have looked at these several times but just don/t really see I guess how one side can droop or even how it might detach by accident. I should think accidental detachement would be be a huge problem even if it only happened once and a safety issue as well. I think for this to happen it must be installed improperly. I do not think either of those things could happen on my tractors but it is a slightly different set up I suppose. I see also on my 2410 there is another cross brace at the rear towers that ties them together to prevent them from spreading under load. Maybe the simple fix is a similar cross brace, should be very easy to rig up and paint it green and your cooking with gas.
Hope you can get it fixed. J

Tex, I have a 4100 w/410 loader. I have no idea what you're talking about regarding loader problems. Yes there was a possible issue with detatchment if the front locking plate was incorrectly installed, but JD supplied a simple lock-latch mechanism to safeguard against this happening. I never heard of this ever happening and you would have to have the latch plate and adjustment rod totally mis-installed for anything like this to happen. As to sway or unlevelness, I've never experienced this. The level problem which was reported is most likely due to the large frame bolts being loose and causing the unit to shift. This is probably due to the mechanic not properly torquing the nuts during assembly. I would not have any concerns about this loader nor would I let these items influence which tractor to purchase. You may have other reasons to purchase a different tractor, but I can think of no legitimate design or performance concerns with the 410 loader. Compare the capability specs of this loader against the other brands (same tractor size class) and you will be amazed at how much greater capacity this loader is rated for compared to the competition.

TresCrows,

There is no lateral movement. The mounting posts are very stable and do not move. No structural issue. So, no engineering problem that I have seen.

When I lower the bucket, the left side hits the ground before the right side. TxBillyed has a similar situation on the right side.

Is it a hydraulic problem, set up problem, adjustment slippage, etc.? Don't really know. Just need to look into it.

Terry, I was not questioning really the design. JD has been building tractors a long time and so has yanamar so I suspect it is an installation problem. You might also as suggested check those tire pressures. I do think a cross bar would help prevent spreading under load but like I said, I am confident JD has some idea of what they are doing. Yeah, it sure looks like a strange thing would have to happen for the loader to pop off.

TresCrows,

Nope, tire pressure is good.

Just one of the those small mysteries of tractordom.... /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif
