JD 4115 vs 4310

I have 3 dealers within 35 minutes and checked two of them before buying. I saved a touch over $1000 by going with the dealer that was further away. If you do go with a dealer that is further away work out in advance any pick-up charges for service work assuming you don't have your own trailer.
For me the $1k was worth it although my parts & fluids come from the closer dealer.
As far as servicing, consider picking up the service manual on CD for about $46 and doing it yourself. If you run into trouble or have a question there's always us on TBN. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Power Beyond is a set of hydraulic outlets that power a backhoe.

The PowerBeyond option ($221) provides uncontrolled (no valve) hydraulics at the rear of the tractor through a couple of quick disconnects. The backhoe contains its own valves so hence theneed for uncontrolled hydraulics.
I use my PowerBeyond to run a 3 point log splitter.

I would do some more checking, don't know about the 4310 but the price for the 4115 seems a bit steep. So do the prices for the implements.

I faced the same decision a while back, and went with the bigger model (4410). Glad I did. And I only have 8 acres. If you can afford the few extra $K go for the larger model -- you'll never regret it.
