I have a JD 420 lawn tractor with a oil light gremlin, it seems that for no reason every once in awhile the oil light will come on and then go off after I hit a bump or something like that. I have checked the oil on these occasions to see if it was low and never is. So where is the oil sending unit on this thing? It is a onan gas engine and I am thinking that it is shorting out the wire somewhere, I don't have a manual for it as I bought it used and did a lot of tid bit type repairs as the previous owner was a mickey mouse artist with several miles of bailing wire and duct tape. I would like to try and find a online wiring diagram if I could and print it off so I can have a idea about my tractor, Any info would be greatly appreciated thanks. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If it is the P220 engine, the sending unit is directly above the oil filter. It threads into a 45* street elbow. You will probably need to remove some of the sheet metal shrouds on the engine to get at it.
