JD 4200 A GOOD DEAL?

I am in New-Brunswick, Canada. I have the opportunity to take over a lease on a JD 4200, (soft cab, hst, 7 foot FEL "420", 60 inch mower and 60 inch snowblower. It is 3 years old(don't know exacly the year), 400 hours, was used mostly for residential snowblowing. Payments are $400/month until august 2006, then buyout is $15 000.(canadian $). Is this good? What should i look out for? Any recommendations? Maintenance and repair/parts cost?

What is the exchange rate anyway?


Have you gotten a bid on a (comparable) new system? If you have another dealer, it might be best to try a price from them, as this one might want to push the lease unit (assuming it is at a dealer...)

Used CUTS hold their value like crazy, so always be sure you have a quote on new before taking the plunge on used...

OK, I ran the conversion, and I don't think its that great... I pay a simiolar amount on a 4310, 430 loader 47 hoe and MX6. I got mine brand new with a warranty.

But prices might really be higher there.... But I would still shop new, before jumping...

Thanks for the info so far guys. BTW it is a private person and it is to take over the lease, no other money involved. The new jd 4210 was quoted at about $36000 cdn, that is with hard cab and FEL (can't remenber now if it was with blower), and without the mower. I am heading out now to see at 2002 new holland tc30, 60 hours!!, with hard cab, $23000 cdn, private estate sale. Will find out later if anything else comes with it. Any opinions on that one.
