Well I eventually got it all sorted. Initial problem was an intermittent bad connection to the starter solenoid. Can't fix that permanently as removal of that connector means removal of the solenoid/and starter itself which is a major job - the hydraulics pipework is in the way. So I'll have to live with that one. Then the other problem was another intermittent electrical problem! TWO intermittent electrical problems -a nightmare! This second one was the Forward and Reverse pedals for the HST which occasionally failed to return to neutral. Age and lubrication probably at fault there. But knowledge is power!

Many thanks to Joe and all of you who helped me out with useful ideas and technical input. The pdf technical manual is extraordinary. not the easiest thing to read on a computer screen but essential really.

Thanks to all

Regards

David

I don't think its been mentioned I have found connectors on fuses get loose or worn if when it acts up push or wiggle fuses and sometime you find it especially the 30 amp to small of a connector for amp draw, also the back of the fuse box is open and gets a lot of dirt accumulated, take a blow gun and blow it clean,
