JD 4200 dies when put in gear

I have a JD 4200, Problem is tractor dies when put in gear. Had a problem with the safety under the seat so I wired direct, tied wires together,(bypassing it). Didn't change anything, wires together or apart no difference. Had this problem once before and unplugged, repluged the seat safety switch and that fixed the problem then but not now.

Joe, that definately sounds like the saftey switch again. Maybe check the wiring. Sometimes wiring problems can drive you crazy.

Thanks,Dirt < pulled the wires off the pressure switch under the seat, wired them together, still dies, left them apart, still dies (when pushing in clutch and placing in forward or reverse)Tractor will start with circut open or closed.Tractor has safety switch on transmission. when unpluged will not crank to start.

May I assume there's only 2 wires to your seat switch ?

And the seat switch 'does not' send either wire to ground when active ?

Do we have a wiring schematic handy ?
