Lacking my tech manual still, I wonder if someone can tell me..

Lifting up the seat and messing with the wiring, I found a couple of wires in a plug, connected to nothing. They are orange and yellow, both male and in a recessed plug with a cap snapped over them.

Does anyone know, from my poor description, what these are for?

Thanks,
Bob (who is still studying a solution for "Plug and Play" lighting!) /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Attach something (voltmeter, light, -) to the wires and see if they are hot, or are switched. They are likely the ones you are looking for to 'power on' when the light switch is in the 'D' (or full clockwise) position.

No, the rear work light problem has been solved.. like you guys said.. the purple wire under the seat runs the rear work lights.. and they work as they should now. These orange and yellow wires have no power to them at all with the light switch in any position, although I admit I forgot to try them with the ignition on.

I'll try that tomorrow. I just thought someone might know off the top of their head what these are for, which fuse circuit they are on, etc...

Addendum: these wires also have no power when the ignition is switched on.

I think I need a schematic to figure this out. I will call that number for JD and get my tech manual now! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I believe the wires would attach to the safety interlock switch for the mid PTO. If you don't have mid PTO, the wires just hang there waiting for you to install one.

Ahah! That makes sense. Yes, we have no mid-PTO. Thanks!
