So about a month ago I started the machine and it started up I used it then parked it. I went to use it in recent snow storm and wouldn't start. Its like the throttle linkage is stuck closed because I gave it a shot of ether and it fired and idled a second but was like it was choked out. I sprayed all by the throttle linkage. I was reading something and almost seem as though something runs up and is controlled under vavle cover. I am wondering if something is hung up. I put heat on the tractor. it happened one time last year in the cold. I am confused.

First plug in the block heater. The S series 2-53 used in the 435 and 440 was a dismal cold starter. When rebuilt with the N series piston and sleeve set along with C35 injectors . Starting is much improved .
It does would like a no fuel problem on your tracror . Is the fuel rack free to travel?
Worse yet if the engine does start and the rack is stuck. Zrrrrrrrrooooooommmmmm

I assume if I pull valve cover I would be able to see that.
