While brushhogging yesterday I disengaged the PTO and the PTO run light stays on,I engage it and disengage and the light still stays on.I realize I better get to the house,if this thing stalls on me I will never get it started with the tractor thinking the PTO is engaged.I go to the house and turn the tractor off and sure enough it will not start or even attempt to start,I remove the seat and the plastic covers around the PTO handle, nothing there but the linkage,I remove the plastic cover around the low/mid/high range selector, ahaa the plug has come unplugged from the switch that tells the tractor if the PTO is engaged or disengaged,I am able to get hold of the plug with 2 fingers and FINALLY am able to get it snapped back in place.
The tractor had been in the shop a while back for some major work and they did not get the switch snapped back in place like they should have.Cost me about 3 hours of down time yesterday.
