OK everyone, time for me to give back a little and post some information. I am in the process of shopping for a tractor in the 40 HP range, therefore have been looking at Kubota's 4240/4740, JD's 4120/4320, and will be also looking at NH's TC40A/TC45A. So, for all you JD folks, here is my report so far:

- Tractor JD 4120 Power Reverser = $21,025
(Includes R1's, Filled Rear Tires, Dual Mid and Single Rear SCV)
- Tractor JD 4320 Power Reverser = $22,760
(Includes R1's, Filled Rear Tires, Dual Mid and Single Rear SCV)
- 400cx Loader, 73" HD Bucket = $4,600
- 3rd Loader Function Lines & Hoses = $291.00
- Tooth Bar = $365.00
- (3) Hooks on Bucket = $75.00
- Rear Light Kit = $110.00
- Front Light Kit = $44.000
- Engine Block Heater = $150.00
- Rear Tire Chains = $285.00
- Power Beyond = $275.00
- Telescoping Draft Links = $265.00

Total (4320) = $29,220

Prices are from Vermont, and not reduced by any hageling. Sorry, I am a gear guy so that is that.

My comments so far...great tractor (obvious). The Power Reverser transmission is really really nice. It is very smooth. I like it a lot. Comfort and ergonomics are first rate. JD is offering 0% for 36 months...Kubota is not for it's Grand L40's right now (big mistake I think).

What does JD need to do? The third loader function needs to be an option that doesn't work off the rear SCV. The function needs to be controlled right off the loader joystick right from the factory (no WR Long aftermarket type required). They do this on the 5x25 series I think...add it to the 4x20 series...maybe even the 3x20 series.

That's all I have for now...let the chatter begin!

Hi Jim, and if you don't mind me asking, what location are you in? Your pricing seems much better than mine. Any input would be great. PM me if you wish. Thanks!

I forgot to add some things. I also got an MX6 and and iMatch hitch w/1 set of bushings for $2316.49. I have another $300 in lights, brush guard and a toolbox. Thats right around $25000 for mine. (I dont have EHydro or rear SCV) Maybe I just caught the dealer on a bad day and he really wanted to move a unit.

My unit was ordered; probably makes some difference versus dealers needing to move units they are paying interest on thru their floor plan loans. I had one out of state dealer who was more competitive on pricing (by about $350;it was a unit on the lot) but I wanted to establish a relationship with my local dealer.

Where are you located? That seems like a great price for a 400cx loader. Are you sure it was the cx that they quoted you on?

I double checked and the loader is the 400CX. it was like $500 more, but the easy off and on is worth it.

I am Wisconsin. IF you want my dealers name and phone PI me

Well, it looks like I will definitely be going with the 4320 Power Reverser and 400cx loader. Some of you had some really good pricing, and I will do my best to do the same. I have 4 dealers nearby and only have been to two of them. I suspect I should get the numbers down some.
