JD 5085 E CAB

Okie dokie... I am taking the plunge and purchasing a JD 5085 E in April, waiting on taxes. To be honest I'll have to wait a few months on the front end loader. However I will be purchasing a finishing mower for the 5085 E, so that I can get busy with the land.

Can anyone share their experiences with the mowers? I don't want a bush hog. I like to keep my land looking nice and clean. I do plan to HAY and that in itself is an entire different type of setup. For right, now I wanted to know what your thoughts are on the finishing mowers. I was thinking 12 ft, the wing type that fold up and down? Any horror stories about this type of rig?

And I was going to go with the 5075 E CAB but for a few thousand more I can upgrade to the 5085 E CAB. And tires was something I wanted to check on, considering I didn't want to tear up the land. I'll be mowing about 50 acres give or take a couple.

heres a peice of advice.but i dont know if it holds true for all jd tractors.but it costs $2000 or more or less to rig your tractor for fel.plus the cost of the fel.so if i was you id have the loader installed when you buy the tractor.as the loader an everything needed will most likely go up in a year.

I see about 2,000 more if it has to be rigged up at a different time, rather than it not coming stock?

Tires, is the 50 acres a lawn? If not be less worried about tearing up the ground and be more concerned about traction. If your mowing a lawn then I personally wouldn't use such a large machine. I'd be looking at a larger ztr. It would now much faster and better. Just my 2 cents worth.
