Who cares where it is made, as long as a the seller stands behind their work and product, right?

Seems like a good deal to me. I may go stop by the local dealership for a ride!

Oh, obviously JD doesn't have an issue with it, becuase they tell you on the spec sheet where it was made.

It will pull a 7ft mid duty hog but is most effecient (cut faster) with a 6ft mid duty. The FEL is not quick attach and you will more than likely need a hoist to remove it. If your cutting in open areas, the fel should not be a problem. It is available in 2WD only, but I think it's the 5X25 series where you can get 4WD. It, in my opinion, is the best bang for the buck JD has right now hands down.

nope, 5105 is where you can step up to mfwd. paid around 19500 for mine, with BB. no loader but loader ready. 5X25 is big money.

( Do they make it in 4 wheel drive? It sounds like a heck of a bargain. How hard is it to detach the FEL? Will it bog down using a 7' bush hog? Sorry for the 60 questions, but this sounds like an amazing deal. )

also, let me add my 5105 will completely obliterate a medium JD bush hog if you hit a stump or other object. It will NOT bog down. It will cut trees up to 3 inches, though rated for 2 inches. You should operate in 2wd when bush hogging with that tractor to prevent utterly destroying the bush hog (sadly, that is from experience...)

Have already used my 5203 with FEL--about 60 hours. Yes, the 4WD would be nice as would a shuttle, but it has worked great for me so far. No problem with power--like the other poster said, run out of traction way before run out of power.

I really love the little tractor. My son does landscape work and he likes it too although he would prefer a different tranny for commercial work. But for me, I have no complaints. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Pd 18,500 for the 5203 including 512 loader.

The quick attach loaders will fit the 5x03 series just like they fit the 5x20 series. Most people never take their loader off anyway, but if you want a 521 loader on a 5x03, it'll fit. It also has a larger bucket.

The 5103 is JD's answer to Mahindra's base units. If you want a nice, no frills machine in 2WD from Deere, this is the one. FWA IS nice, but if you NEVER had it, you don't really miss it b/c you already know where you can and cannot drive... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
