JD 5320 Bottom Cushion Replacement?

Funny thing, I had my FIL buy an aftermarket seat for the 5420 last year and I still haven't installed it yet...the black plastic heavy duty contractor's grade trash can liner is still holding up perfectly fine. I just had to cut 2 slits in it to fit it over the armrests.....

I think a plastic trash can or storage bin cut to size would be good to keep the sun/rain off while not in use. I use trash bags too but I think I need larger ones that are at least 3mil thick.

Be careful in buying something beside the seat made for it. Not saying you should not just saying be careful. I replaced seat on my Kubota and after had thrown my old me away realize my seat belt went with it. Also seat bottom was not a deep and just not comfortable. Then Agri Supply had replacement seats for our JD Gator that looked just like the JD seats did and mounting was easy. Only problem was in installing them used the old bolts which were not same threads as the new seats and had problems from that.

Agri supply does sell a good selection of seats and you should find plenty of info on them. They stand behind their product with refund and guarantees great.

I have a 5320 IOOS with the "comfort seat" with cracked vinyl that's great for keeping my butt wet all day after a good rain. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a replacement other than forking out a ridiculous amount of $$$ to John Deere. I believe the part number is AL116978 as seen in THIS DIAGRAM. So far the lowest cost I've found is HERE for $168. I'm hoping there are better options. Curious to know if bolt patterns for JD seats and aftermarket JD seats are standard such that I can use something like THIS or THIS. I would not use the backrest only the bottom cushion. Or would having an upholstery shop be a better/cheaper route? Looking for any suggestions that keep the cost down to a reasonable amount. Thanks.

Can't tell if your tractor is a straddle mount or isolated operators station. For straddle mount I think you will have difficulty finding aftermarket and possibly trouble with the isolated mount as well. What I do know is that the a&i seat bbs108yl is a direct fit for the seat assy and can generally be bought for about $300 which isn't to bad depending on the overall condition of your seat and suspension. Otherwise for a good fit you are probably going to have to look at oem.
