JD 5320 Help getting it started

I can't get my JD 5320 started. It will sit for long periods of time without being started and the fuel drains back into the tank and then it will not start. I have had a terrible time getting it started. Any suggestions? I have tried the hand primer and also used an air compressor trying to get fuel back into the line. Need help
