what's the price on them? do they only come with cabs or can you get an open station?

Very very fine looking tractor! May be exactly what I have been looking for depending on price. Advertising it locally as an economy model. Looks like the 20 series. I too would be interested in exactly what you can buy this puppy for. MSRP seems to be around 43k depending on how you want it equipped. What loader is available for it? Looks like it's made in the USA too!

I am exited about this tractor. I would really love one if I could afford it. I think it will offer features and compete with any brand for the $$$.

I think standard features include, 99hp (85 @ pto),Cab with heat & A/C, MFWD, FEL, 12/12 power reverser tranny, and economy PTO. It might be the that the weak link is that (according to my dealer,) only 1 pair of hydraulic outlets available in the rear. I've never needed more than 1 pair. I'm sure some folks needing to run a batwing need 2 sets. I find it hard to believe that you couldn't tap into the system for another pair.

Someone was asking the other day about "the current 4020." (Maybe on another forum.) At that time I responded comparing apples from 35 years ago to apples from today, thinking that if you have to ask the question in the first place the answer is obvious; there isn't one. I remember thinking to myself that there's so much parity in the market today that the only way to separate yourself from the crowd is to do the same thing - cheaper. Cheaper, that is, for brand names with an established dealer network. Well, it seems that JD has done it again. IMHO the 5603 has so much built in value that it just may accomplish in the utility market what the 4020 did in the late 60's in the farm market.

If you need another pair you can always buy a hydraulic multiplier. I see them advertised for $405 here in Pa. They are made by Fasse.

This tractor looks like a whole lot of tractor for the money! Appears that the 542 loader is part of the package. And working through the JD configurator, there are SCV options that give you more than one rear SCV.
Lotta workin' machine for not a whole lot more than a cab 4000 - 20 series.

Didn't notice if it was a turbo version or not. Or other engine specs.

If a $43k MSRP includes the 542 loader, sounds like a wonderful deal. Hopefully actual selling price would be more in the $37-38k range, which would be comparable to a Kubota M7040 cab with LA1153 - the Deere 5603 would be quite a bit more tractor, I think.

MSRP DOES NOT INCLUDE a loader. You are going to see a lot of changes to the 5000 series lineup in the next year. 5105 models have already stopped productions, 5205's to follow soon...and that's only the beginning!!

could a totally new model be coming out to replace both the 5003 and 5005 models? could we get a hint?:D
