I was intrigued to see you write that the 5603 is built from the ground up, meaning pretty much new design, specs, etc. Others have written that it is a knock off from the old 5x20 series. The Power Reverser transmission along with size, cab and MFWD are impressive for a JD in this price range. Things like the mechanical front wheel engagement and mechanical pto obviously keep the price down. Are Kubotas mechanical in those areas too. I'm seriously looking at this tractor for my next trade, in a year or so. You seem to be in a position to comment about these discrepancies. Would you? Also, will this new option (5603) hurt the late model, low hour trade value of similar used tractors being people can now buy practically the same thing new in that price range?gamble77 said:There are no "steals" in this world. If John Deere made a tractor that was a "steal" it wouldn't live up to the JD name. Now, that being said this tractor was designed from the ground up to compete & beat Kubota, both spec wise and price wise...
