JD 6220
Greetings,

I have a low hour 6220 with a left had reverser. The last time I used it, it would jump to neutral on the reverser and the tach would quit. Also, I got three flashing warning light on the dash. This happened after about 1 hour of use. I can shut the tractor off for 5 -15 min. and it will work for a while. I looked at the solenoids on the transmission, and the one on the opposite side from the FNR solenoids (#27 on the diagrams I have seen on this forum) appears to have hydraulic fluid in the connector. Can anyone tell me what this solenoid does and can it cause this problem?

Thanks,

If oil gets into these switches , it can upset the signal . Oil in your plug is a tell tail the switch is faulty . They have a seal on the detent shaft that is supposed to keep the oil out of the switch but they fail .
The top switch on my New Holland is faulty , if I go on a steep angle to the left , the oil gets into the switch and the shift is erratic for a few hours . I haven't had time to pull it out and order a new one .
