JD 6400 stuck in forward gear!!

The cable attached to the shifter operates the forward/reverse valve. If lever on side of control valve under tractor moves, could be a broken pin or fork inside of the control valve. Fork #3 is the one involved and pin #5 could be sheared.

Thanks is that picture facing me the front of the tractor or is it facing the rear.

I took the console off yesterday and linkage ok at the top need to get underneath while someone is moving it.

Should I be able to see that linkage from the bottom without tipping the cab over?

Ok got to look at the tractor more closely yesterday on the drivers side or port side so to speak, up under the side of the tranny between the frame i found the linkage that had the pin missing. I didn't have a pin so I put a piece of wire in it to see if that was it.

It started but I think because I took the cover around the shifters off we had something out of sync. Ok mostly ok the only problem I am seeing now is when I go to 4th gear with the power shift somehow it gets it stuck in forward even if I shift to reverse, neutral or park. If I shift out of 4th and change gears ABCD then it works fine. I couldn't get it to do the same thing consistently, except for when I shift to 4th gear. Really weird.
