IHC made several models like a 71 JD. I have 15 of the IHC model 295 units on my bean bar. These can slide close together. I believe the model 185 was before it, these were round hoppers that couldn't fit as close together.
AC made single row units, think those were covered here, they had an old design as well as a new design, not sure of their numbers.
As for fertilizer, I've seen a Gandy unit set up to drop granular fert next to the rows. I'm not any more familiar with how, but Gandy has been big in fert & insecticide attachments for all sorts of planters.
