I'm alittle confused about the Depth Cam adjustment. Does the number that coincides with the depth you want go at the top .. or upside down at the bottom. I have a JD manual that shows it at the bottom, but the Yetter manual shows it at the top. I want to pant corn 2 inches deep. If the number goes upside down, then I cannot get it set for anything less than 2.5 inches before the Cam touches the bottom stop on the press wheel assembly. Need some help and a good picture if someone can shoot me one. Thanks !

I ran across that ... I guess I'm going to have to play with it some. My old JD manual says the bottom of the toolbar should be 18 inches above the depth you want to plant. So if you want to plant 2 inches deep, I'm assuming you want your toolbar 16 inches above the ground. The newer Yetter manual just says set the bottom of your toolbar should be 16 inches from the ground .. then set your CAM for the planting depth you want. I know I must be making this too complicated ... LOL

You'll probably have to try and error to see if the 16 or 18 will get you close. I don't have one of these planters personally (Mine is a much older JD 290 that was converted to 3pt) To get mine setup I had to hook it up to my tractor set the planter down and run it a few feet to see how it cut than readjust. If it is bottomed against the press wheel right now Im guessing you can get it to come off it by setting the planter in the dirt and then extending the top link on the 3pt to act as an opposing for to the pressure spring of the press wheel. You might even be able to get further adjustments this way.

Once you get it set up and working correctly paint a stripe on the top link threads for correct length and put a little mark on the three point where 18" sets if you don't have a stopper so next time you can hook up and go without having to recalibrate the depth all over again.

The numbers are for reference only. Looking from the side the further clockwise the adjustment is turned the deeper it will plant.
