My JD 7410 hydraulics overheating warning light comes on after running PTO while mowing hay. When this happens the transmission hesitates to go into forward position but will go immediately into reverse like normal. Any ideas as to what is wrong?

Are SCV levers returning to neutral once cylinder is at desired location??

Yes. You can mow for about 30 minutes before the light comes on and then if you stop, disengage the PTO, and put in park, it will cool off enough for light to go off and may run 10 minutes or less before the light comes on again.

Have you checked hyd temp with a laser thermometer? It's possible you have a bad sensor.
