I am new to the forum although I have been reading for a while. I have found a clean 1998 JD 770 for sale. It has 300 hrs, 4WD, power steering and 60"MMM for $8500. Does this sound like a good price. I would also like to install a loader. Can I mount a 420 loader? Will it interfere with the mower? Thanks in advance for any feedback. Steve

SteveW,

Welcome. I don't know a lot about the 770 but it's very similar to my 855. I don't think the 420 loader will fit that unit. I think you'd need to find a 70 loader for it. I don't know for sure but a friend of mine has the 770 and I think that's the loader he has on it. anything is possible. Either way I don't think the loader will interfere with a MMM.

It is the #70 Loader you'll need (if you stick with a Deere loader).

The price sounds very good!! One thing you will want to know is if it has a dual stage clutch (most likely it does) and the hydraulic valves to add a loader.

I own a 670 (little brother to the 770). I think you'll find the 770 to be an extremely tough, capable tractor for a small (2 plus) to medium sized lot.
