JD 790 from India?

Does any one here have a JD 790 that was made in India? Or has anyone ever seen one that said made in India on it?

The 790's and 990's all come from Japan (Yanmar) to Augusta, GA where they are finished out. The only Deere tractors that come from India are the 5x03's.

Are they sub-ed out to Yanmar completely... or does Yanmar build then according to JD specs?

My point being... why not just by a Yanmar if there is no difference besides color?

They are built to Deere specs by Yanmar. Yanmar can't sell that machine in this part of the world. It's part of a global agreement the two companies have on marketing. Those are good, reliable tractors.

All of the JD 790s that I have every seen or heard tell of were made in Japan. The reason that I asked this question was because on an old tractor site that I frequent, a supposed JD dealer was telling that the JD 790s were now all made in India. Now, he has made some strange statements before. I felt like he was out in left field again, but the way manufacturing is moving around, you can't ever tell. If anyone has heard anything about compact production in India, go ahead and post.

I'm the Deere guy who set up John Deere India's export program for the world (just retired). I can tell you where they all go. I also did China and the Middle East. The 790/990 are all made in Japan, finished off in Augusta, GA.
