I have a Jd 855 that has a real bad habit of squealing under the seat when the cylinders on my loader are fully stroked in or out and I also lost a lot of
lifting ability with the 3PT. I just purchased a service manual but would like to get as much input as possible to avoid any unnecessary labor. Any info
would be greatly appreciated. (PS I had a most of hydraulic system apart
under the seat looking for something obvious including the rock shaft thought the screen might be clogged.
Thanks, Mike

I would guess that the pressure relief valve is opening too easily. You should take it out (probably a couple washers, a spring and a rounded cup) and see if there is a chunk of gunk keeping it from closing all the way.

I assume that you have already changed the filter in teh system and cleaned any screens, checked fluid levels and have no water in the fluid.

Definitely sounds like a relief valve problem-I suggest you get a gauge and take a measurement of the system pressure. You can get a gauge at TSC or online for under $20.
