I have recently bought a Jd 2155 and has 1 set rear remotes. I have noticed if I am using an implement such as haybine I cannot disconnect the hose (its a single action cylinder if makes a differance) if its under pressure. I would like to park the haybine in a raised position or disk in a raised position sometimes. Is this normal? is their a quick connect you can get that you can connect/disconnect under pressure?

I was thinking about putting a valve inline so I could turn off the pressure not sure if it will work though?

There are QD's that you can connect and disconnect under pressure, they are usually the flat-face style that's found on skid steer loaders. They are expensive though...

They valve would also work-you would close the valve, then operate the remote to relieve the pressure.

I just had another thought about this...

Why not make a mechanical lock that will hold the haybine in the up position, and take the pressure off the cylinder and hoses? This would be the best and safest solution.

For a mechanical lock, I have in the past took a section of steel pipe and cut it length wise. Put the section on the exposed rod of the cylinder and then relieve the pressure.
