JD Deck Identification

I have a JD322 I just picked up that needs a little TLC. The 50 inch deck needs bearings and painted. I decided to look for another deck while I fix this one up. Deere wanted $930 for the 48 inch replacement deck they sell.

I found a very nice 48 inch deck for sale and have the sell in the bag. It was bought new for a 314 as a replacement and is only 4 years old. Was used one season and the 314 gave out. It looks to me it might be the 48 inch replacement deck that Deere sells for $930. The deck has the following numbers on it and I'm trying to find out if it would fit a 322? My Dealer is checking and has not gotten back to me as yet. These numbers ring a bell with anyone?

Hi Craig; I haven't been on-line for a while and you probably already have your answer, but here's my 2 cents. The parts catalog for the Mod 48 deck list 2 drive belt part number: one for a 120, 140, 300, 312, 314 and 316, the other belt number for a 317. There is no listing for a 322 so I would ASSUME it will not fit. Bob

I was at my dealer the other day and he looked up this deck in a Part ID manual and it was listed to fit a 322. I bought the deck and it is being shipped this week. I got the belt that the dealer had listed for this deck being on a 322.
