JD green paint, decals and few parts (knowledge).

sorry, i dont mean to sound completely ignorant. i usually can look at machinery or equipment and figure it out pretty quick, but i have not had time to look it over in the 2 weeks i have had it yet.

i am looking for a place to purchase paint and decals so i can paint the tractor does anyone have any information on where to look on the internet etc...

i say a rockshaft on ebay and noticed the one on my 318 rotating up/dn as i lifted the deck and wondered just what all attachments can i use back there and the mule drive on the front what exactly is this for and how do i use it.

thanks for any information you guys want to give, it will all help me to understand my tractor that much better and quicker.

The best place to buy paint and decals is from your John Deere dealer. They should have the paint in stock and can get most of the decals in a day or two. You may see some on eBay but they usually sell for more than JD gets for them. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The "mule drive" is just a few sheaves (pulleys) under the front of the tractor that converts a vertical belt run to a horizontal belt run to power the mower deck, it also has a black knob to adjust the belt tension. It is easily removed from the tractor when not needed.
