JD green

Has the color of the green always been the same? I bought some Valsar
JD green to do some painting on the bucket of my 400x loader. Just wondering if it's going to match or if it is just for earlier tractors.

TSC has two different Valspar "JD Green" paints. I think one is for "antique" tractors and the other is for newer stuff. I have used the one for new stuff and it seems a pretty good match to me.

My JD dealer also stocks two versions of "green" paint. Sorry I can't help you with the changeover year.

I just used some of the Valspar stuff I got at a home improvement center on my 1989 318 and it didn't match well. I ended up repainting most of the metal. I just figured it was because of sun fading or something else age related. The old green was darker.

I also recently used the same paint to touch up the bucket on my 2305 after welding on some chain hooks and the color blended right in like buttah.

I used XO rust brand paint,from a True value hardware store. It matched the bucket on my 300cx loader perfect. I only paid $20 per gal. too eddy622611

The newer paint must be much more expensive. Just ordered a cabbed JD 4520 and it seemed pricey.

There are 2 colors, one for Ag and one for Consumer products.

The older green seemed slightly darker. Perhaps they altered shades when plastic/fiberglass parts became more common.
