Rotary Cutter JD Gyramor 407 Slip Clutch Disassembly

Here is a link to a picture of the components (my 407 is the same) JD Gyramor 127 clutch - Yesterday's Tractors

I need to tighten the clutch as it is slipping too much (and can't move the castle nut (#1 on diagram) and have it stripped down to where I am looking at the clutch plate holder (#7 in the diagram) and discs which are stuck on the shaft and wonder if anyone has advice as to how I can get the discs off?

I have a couple of bearing pullers which I can try (no joy the first time) and I wonder if there is a trick? (before I apply brute force).

Now have the clutch off the shaft but the clutch plate holder and castle nut are split - expensive pieces - any suggestions for sourcing?
