 What size tractor are you trying to pull the aerway with? You need at lease 40-45 hp to pull this implement with (at full penetration), so the size of the hitch is moot if your tractor is too small for the implement.

Really? Then I guess I can't be using mine with my John Deere 3320. I'll have to remember that the next time I use it.

Aerway recommends a minimum of 25hp for the 6-foot model. In fact, if you look at an Aerway brochure, they show a 6-foot model being pulled with a Kubota L2550 - a 27hp tractor. The local golf courses use JD & Kubota CUTs with turf tires to pull the ones they use.

Thanks guys. I have a JD 5103 50 hp. will pull it just fine. the aerway has the bolt through pins on it but are about 1 1/2 inches to short on each side to match up. my first thought was longer bolt throughs but was thinking the may bend being too long? maybe a pc of soid round stock all the way through and welded the the supports. sorry about the respond time but I when fishin?? jb

Look very carefully at the factory pins. On my Aerway, the pins have a shoulder on them. The holes in the outer support are 1-1/8 inches diameter, and the holes in the inner support are 7/8-inches diameter to fit the standard 7/8-inch pins that oriented toward the center of the implement.

This configuration makes the pin 1-1/8 inches in diameter for the distance from the outside of the outer support to the inside of the inner support. The remainder of the pin is 7/8-inch diameter.

Finding a pin that is two separate diameters may be difficult. You might want to take the factory pins out, and just bolt a standard hitch pin of the correct length to the inner support with the pin oriented toward the center of the implement.
