JD/Kubota/Kioti

I own several Kubotas and really like them, my brother likes his Kioti, of course I like his Kioti and he uses and likes my Kubotas, great quality on both. Given the models listed, I lean towards the Kioti. I looked at the Kioti website and it does not appear to have both brakes on the left, so I'm a bit confused. As to treadle vs dual, I use both and it's no big deal either way. My wife however hates the side by side, so different strokes.

Saw a CK at the dealer, IIRC it had two brakes on left, two HST pedals and a clutch on the right.

It seems some have mentioned a difference in the old CK and new ones, I've been told Kioti HSTs don't have a clutch. All I am going by is what I see on the website as my brother's Kioti is geared. Our "local" dealer is over 60 miles away with very small inventory, my brother bought his out of state.

Some even came with treadle pedal HST control: Buy New - KIOTI CK27 HST - 28 HP - Hydrostatic - 4x4 - Compact Tractor For Sale Colorado

I think some of the CK model HST's had a clutch.
DK HST models did not have a clutch.
Of course they changed things on the newer models, so I lost track of what's available now..

If there is one I sure can't find it.:D The resale value on our Dk models is just is good as any Kubota's.

Wow, great advice. Thank you. Kioti it will be. My former DS4110 was geared and I don't have a problem with that, however on small acreage the hydro will be more user friendly as a lot of stop and go. Definitely quick disconnect for the bucket. I doubt we need to move up the the DK series.

Unfortunately the DK series is no longer available, unless some dealer has some old stock. The DK hydrostat series has no clutch. The two brake pedals are on the left and the two hydrostat pedals, fwd, rev, are on the right. The PTO is an electric switch on the dash, (actually two switches, counting the automatic pto and manual pto switch) the cruise control is electrical (magnetic) in nature and is a switch on the dash. The 4WD actuation is a rocker switch on the dash as it is electrical/hydraulic also. So all controls are very easy to operate and with the steering brakes on the left and hydrostat "go" pedals on the right you can actually use the steering brakes to maintain your line of travel for instance in icy conditions by touching up your directional control when the front tires won't maintain a "bite" or offer any steering assistance.
This is especially useful when clearing snow and ice off of a sloping parking lot or driveway where gravity or your blades angle will tend to pull your front end downhill. You can hold your straight line by touching the opposite steering brake with your left foot.

My only problem with the hydro pedals on my NX4510 is they are backwards!

Forward is on the left and back is on the right. The forward should be the far right pedal! Like all cars and my rider mower!

The dealer said he has new DK models. Did I get this wrong?

It's possible, but they've been out of production for a while (end of 2014). That's why you won't even find any new DKs listed on websites like Tractor House. The current model is the NX series.

he is referring to the DK4510 and up series.. we are referring to the old DKse series like I and many others here have.. Our DKse series were deluxe tractors along the line as Kubota's Grand L tractors. With many premium features as standard. This line is now the NX series of tractors.
