I agree with all the positive JD manual comments here. I wouldn't buy a new tractor without this information. One thing I really like about the JD manuals is they have "theory of operation" sections about each system on the tractor. These are a BIG help in understanding how the tractor systems work and what the parts do.
In addition to the obvious benefit of being able to see how to repair various systems, they also give step-by-step diagnostics lists to help figure out exactly where the problem lies.
Finally, I think that having all of this information about how things work makes it easier to understand how to operate the equipment in a way that is safe and is easier on the machine.
