hello,

i have a jd mt & would like to put a loader on it.
the problem is that i need hydraulic outlets to run the rams on the loader and i have none.

the question is ......
how do i put outlets on there
where do i break out and put the outlets
i dont want to run an external pump, i want to rig some thing up to use the orignal tractor hydraulic system
is there a kit?
does anyone know how?
please e-mail me

Isn't the hyd. oil pump on the engine now? If not, where is it located?

A pic of your tractor, and s/n would be helpful.

I think you can do this.

Joel,

I admire the concept, and not to rain on your parade, but I don't think it's a good idea. Here's why:

I used to own a JD M. It came with fluid in ALL the tires, plus weights on both the front and rear. Not sure why someone wanted it weighted that much. But you could barely steer it with the added weight on the front. That weight would be about the same as with an FEL. Maneauvering a tractor with a bucket full without power steering is painful.

The hydraulics on the JD M is not live; when you push in the clutch, IIRC, the rear lift stops. That would make loader operating painful at best. Even if you added a PTO hydraulic pump, the pump would stop when the clutch was depressed as it is not a live PTO.

IIRC, the engine is the frame at the front of the tractor, so I don't know how you would mount the FEL frame easily. I suppose it could be done, but I think it would be difficult.

My recommendation is to get a different utility tractor suitable for an FEL. I just don't think you'd be happy with a JD M with FEL.

Your mileage may vary.

I don't disagree about the idea that a FEL on an MT would be hard to steer. It's the reason I didn't add the factory FEL to my JD 420 which was the later version of the MT.

However, my later version 420 had live power, because the hyd pump was part of the 2-cyl engine and had hyd. power available anytime the engine was running. That is why I asked the poster about where his pump was. I added a valve into the system to get a two way ram for my snow plow. I suspect he can do that as well on the MT, if he has further interest.

Beenthere,

It's been a lot time and my mind is slowing. I recall the JD M hydraulics rear of the clutch, but I might be mistaken.
