JD new X-series

I guess it's just the shape. I just can't get into that sloped front end and aero design on a tractor. Makes it look less rugged and in this case, more like a garden tractor.

More like a competitor to the GT series. You need to go with the X495/X595 to get the three-cyl. diesel; I don't see any sign of seat belts, and there doesn't seem to be a ROPS. There is a nasty hump in the center to step over all the time.

And it lists a hydraulic clutch for the PTO, but doesn't indicate if there's a mid-pto only or a mid and rear. It also doesn't look like there's a true three-point hitch in the rear.

I would like to know what these will sell for, but I don't think us BX2200 or BX1800 owners would have gone for this. I know I wouldn't have.

...looks like an expensive & heavy 1100 lb. garden tractor with no 3-point hitch or rear pto... /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Yep, that is what I saw. I thought it was supposed to be so techno advanced!? Where is the ROP's? Where is the flat deck? Where is the 3-point? Where is heft of the BX--the BX is 1300 lbs stripped and that JDX is only 975 with the mower deck! I think I will stick with Kubota. Does it have a seat belt? What the heck is that funny "thing" on the FEL if that even passes as a FEL. I think a BX could swat that thing flat like a big green bug. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif .J

I alos have not heard of a rear PTO on these. Maybe they still use the CAT 0? I also heard they will be more expensive that the current 400 series, more along the costs of a BX2200, in the case of x4xx, and more in the case of the x595. That is some of the reasons I went with a 2001 4100.

What a shame

Who is in charge of product management at Deere? I am the proud owner of a JD LT155 lawn tractor and a Kubota B series. What bothers me the most about this X-waste of money is the way it looks just like my $2500 LT. The management at Kubota must be dancing in the halls. Other than well healed suburbanites with 2 acre lawns, I cant imagine anyone buying the new X type. Just look at the Simplicity Legacy - no big sales figures there...

Sure. On the first downstroke it sucks in the fuel air mixture. On the second upstroke it compresses the fuel air mixture and this ignites at or near the top of the stroke. On the third and final stroke the piston drives down through the crankshaft and out the oil pan. I thought you guys had experience with tractors!
