I kind of wondering if I could just take a slab of metal and bolt it on there somehow... I could use it under my splash guard as well since I put a tree stub through there (**** beavers) before and killed my cover and splash guard.

Use the stock one as a pattern and bend some steel.

you need to curve the cv boots guards if you want them to cover anything. thats why they all make them out of metal and they stay the same height as the stock ones . you don't wanna go straight up with the metal it's gonna be to close to the boot and that ain't good.i'll give you a hint you will need a 4"pipe .
