Has any one ever touched up their tractors paint job by the spray paint that is out there. The black on the metal is easy but what about the fiberglass? I don't own a paint gun and just need to touch up some wear spots and scratches.

G'day Mate and welcome to TBN from Downunder.

You said "by the spray paint that is out there" which doesn't specifically say John Deere paint. Your chances of a match are really poor if you get a non-JD brand that just says JD green. And a perfect match using a spray can is iffy from my experience.
But the JD spray cans have good nozzle tips and are your best chance.

I had some paint damage to my loader frame and sanded it with a couple finer grits of sandpaper. I used John Deere spray paint to spray the entire part and it is impossible to see the difference. On a plastic part I sanded the damage and feathered the sanding in with the finer sandpaper. I carefully sprayed with Deere spray can paint and it's very hard to see the difference. Each part I painted got two or three coats with fine grit 300/400 sanding in between. Prep is the key and factory paint only or don't bother.
