Here's my JD-71 two-row Flexi-planter. It's a good planter.

I think thats the back ... I also believe its a 71 ... John Deere 2 rows are excellent planters.

I don't believe it's a 71 or a 70 Flexi. If you look closely at the unit without a lid on the seed hopper, notice the flat steel frame attached to the press wheel. On a 71 or a 70 Flexi, the press wheel assembly is attached with a cast drive housing. The press wheel itself, looks different than a 70 or 71. I think the small wheels are gage wheels for the toolbar. If I was a bettin man, bet its got a shoe/runner opener. I THINK it looks like a 50 or 51 JD planter unit. It'd be easier to tell with a picture of the other side, and less weeds in the picture. The picture below is a 70 Flexi planter I refurbbed, that predates the 71 Flexi. Compare it to Flusher's 71, and note the similarities. If the price was right, I'd get em for the project value. Of course, I could be wrong. :D Mark

Thanks for pointing that out ... I was wrong ... Now I'm thinking a 51 BUT those front gauge wheels, (as Andy first saw)I quess they could have been added or was an option.

Thread hijack!! Does Deere sill make the 71 flexi planter? That one on the pallet looks like it has "new" stickers on the wheels like it was shipped from the factory.
